1.) God takes pleasure in spreading the knowledge of Christ

What we manifest: The Mystery(Eph. 3.5); God's Redemption in Christ (Eph. 1.10); The scandal of the cross (1 Cor. 1.18); The stumbling block of a crucified Messiah (Rom. 9.32-33; 1 Pet. 2.6-8); That man needs salvation (Eph. 2.1-2, 12; Rom. 8.7; Acts 11.21-23; Tit. 2.11).

2.) God takes pleasure in inadequate preachers

2.1, Inadequate to explain the terrors of Hell

2.2, Inadequate to explain the glories of Heaven

3.) God takes pleasure in sincere preachers and in reverent preaching

3.1, Dangers of preaching: “For we are not like many, peddling the word of God”

3.2, Manner of preaching: “but as from sincerity”

3.3, Power of Preaching: “but as from God”

3.4, Authority of Preaching: “we speak in Christ”

3.5, Sobriety of Preaching: "in the sight of God"
