THE ABIDING GLORY OF THE NEW COVENANT

1.) THE SPIRIT IS MORE GLORIOUS THAN THE FACE OF MOSES

Old Covenant New Covenant
Ink v. 3 Spirit
Tablets of stone Tablets of human hearts
The old covenant (v.14) v.6 The new covenant
Letters Spirit
Letter kills Spirit gives life
The ministry of death v. 7 The ministry of the Spirit
Glory fading v. 8 More glory
Surpassing glory (v.10)
The ministry of condemnation v. 9 The ministry of righteousness
That which is fades away v. 11 That which remains

2.) RIGHTEOUSNESS IS MORE GLORIOUS THAN CONDEMNATION

The gospel is greater than the Law: (John 1.16-17; Rom. 3.21-22, 24).

The Law produces condemnation (Rom. 3.20; 5.20; 2 Cor. 3.6; Gal. 3.11-13).

The Gospel produces righteousness (Phil. 3.9; Rom. 3.23-24; 4.25).

Christ is the "end" of the Law (Rom. 10.4 cf. Mt. 9.16-17; Heb. 8.5; 10.1; Col. 2.16-17).

3.) THE PERPETUITY OF THE NEW COVENANT IS MORE GLORIOUS THAN THE OLD COVENANT

3.1, The New Covenant surpasses the Old Covenant in glory

The Old was never intended to be permanent (Heb. 8.7, 13; Lk. 24.44; John 5.45-46).

3.2, The New Covenant outlasts the Old Covenant in glory

Christ's indestructible life (Heb. 7.15-17).

Christ's reformation (Heb. 9.8-10).

Christ's Covenant will remain (2 Cor. 3.11).
