Passage: 2 Corinthians 3:1-3

Series: 2 Corinthians

Pastor Emilio starts his series, "The Supremacy of the New Covenant".

1.) THE WORK OF THE SPIRIT IS SELF ATTESTING

The Spirit and the New Covenant (Jer. 31.33; Ezk. 11.19-20; 36.26-27).

Commendation for unselfish reasons (2 Cor. 4.2; 64; 5.11-12 cf. 2 Cor. 10.18).

1.1, Apostolic and universal attestation.

(1 Cor. 4.15; 9.2).

2.) THE WORK OF THE SPIRIT IS CHRIST CENTERED

The church is Christ's church (Mt. 16.18; Acts 20.28).

2.1, Paul’s role as amanuensis not author

Paul as a servant (1 Cor. 3.5; 4.1; 9.19; 2 Cor. 1.24; 4.1; Rom. 10.14 cf. 1 Cor. 3.12-13).

3.) THE WORK OF THE SPIRIT IS PRIMARILY INTERNAL

A person must be born anew to be in the Covenant people of God (John 3.5).

Internal work is part of the New Covenant promises which affects all New Covenant members (Ezk. 11.19; 36.26-27).

The New Covenant is superior to the Old (2 Cor. 3.10; Heb. 8.6; Col. 2.16; Gal. 5.6).
